Ammakkilikood (The Mother’s Nest)
Ammakkilikood (The Mother’s Nest) is a heart-centered housing initiative launched by Anwar Sadath MLA in the Aluva constituency. The project focuses on building safe, permanent homes for homeless widows and their children who own land but lack the resources to build a shelter. Operating entirely without government funding, it relies on a unique community-driven model fueled by contributions from individuals, NGOs, and charitable organizations. Since its start in 2017, the mission has transformed over 60 families’ lives, proving that collective compassion can provide a roof and a future for those in need.
